It's the little things in life...

What made me do the happy dance today? I FINALLY got the boxes on my desks at school! Yes, I did say FINALLY & boxes on my desks! What have my kids been using? Fabric pockets over the back of their chair that my mother ever so graciously spent an entire day putting together! Thanks mom!

Back to Reality

So today was supposed to be our first day back to school. I got to school at 7:30 & was greeted with, "You need to call each of your students & tell them that school is canceled today..our pipes are frozen & we have no water." Well, that was an unexpected gift! I was able to be a bit productive & it's nice to feel ahead of the game for a minute! Unfortunately, when I got home there was 3 inches of new snow in my driveway!! I think we got a total of about 6 new inches of snow today. Is it ever going to stop!! As soon as I have a chance I'm going to take pictures! I know I'd better label them though because they will look just like last year's pictures!! For those of you posting where it's warm, just know this: it was -16 Saturday night & -9 Sunday night. We hit a tropical 7 today & are looking forward to hitting nearly 20 tomorrow. How sad is that when 20 degrees is warm?!! Yay recess, here we come!!

Christmas & Other Happenings

Well, we survived Christmas (barely). I've decided that right now I am GLAD I work full time!

My kids have spent WAY too much time together as of late & do almost nothing but fight, and they are NOT quite about it so when Caleb finally falls asleep it lasts no more than 30 minutes at a time. I'm sure that spending 8+ hours in the truck together over the course of 2 days didn't help that much.

Caleb is teething & has a daily 20 minute quota for being happy. He thinks you must hold him & that you absolutely must be standing while holding him. Sleeping through the night is not an option lately. He is eating cereal & baby food quite well now. He LOVES to eat his toes though & especially thinks it's a great idea to do so while eating his cereal. He has gotten good at moving the walker around when he's in it too. Caleb rolled from his back to his belly about a week before Christmas & then didn't do it again until Christmas Day. Well, Christmas Day he took off & now thinks he's a regular pro at rolling over. He only gets mad when he gets high centered on his belly & can't flip back over to his back. He's starting to try & get up on his knees already too. That's a scary thought!!

Other than that, we've had a pretty good break. We've had a ton of snow so that has kept us inside quite a bit. I'm hoping that we're done with the snow for awhile once I go back to school on the 5th! Travis' sister & her family came back out from Florida to be with us for Christmas. It has been kinda different to see them so much in 1 month (they were here for Thanksgiving too).

We had a good time visiting everyone in Manti over Christmas & the kids loved seeing their cousins they don't get to see very often.

Samantha keeps asking why her dad doesn't get a Christmas break. It's a hard concept for her to understand that not everyone gets the same time off that she & I do!

We are looking forward to 2009 & all the adventures it is sure to bring with it (so long as some of the 2008 adventures are not to be repeated!!!). We hope the new year finds you happy & well. Can't wait to hear from you!
