Not my month with computers...
So, I think I mentioned a bit ago about how my macbook (school laptop) totally crashed during the week before grades/report cards were due. Well, this weekend, my home computer decided to follow suit. Friday and Saturday when I tried to turn it on, the screen just went to power save automatically. So, on Saturday I took my computer into Computer Wise. The guy told me it was "either the motherboard or a bad video card." For those not so savvy with techie talk - crashed motherboard = buy new computer. Yes, I was sad. Not surprised though because my home computer is six years old. Well, after several phone calls today I have been told: the battery on the motherboard went out = $5, 2 new sticks of RAM = $5/each, 1 hr of labor = about $80, new case for external hard drive (bought Sept. 07 and it only worked for a month) = $40 but it gave it to me for $29.99 b/c it was their case on it that was bad (should've taken it in a year and a half ago while it was still under warranty!!!) = Grand Total just under $200. Oh goody! At least it wasn't a whole new computer! Bad side = they had to reformat my hard drive so I lost about a floppy disk worth of data (including some pix that I didn't have backed up yet :( ). Oh well, I guess it could have been a lot worse!! Hope you're having better luck than me in the technology department!!

Thankful Thursday
Thanks Aliyah for reminding me to do this!
I am thankful for the infectious laugh of my children & their endless wonder at the little things in life.
I am thankful for a mother that will pick up my children in a moments notice.
I am thankful for Laura who will keep my boys longer at a moments notice!
I am thankful for my dad who is willing to go to bat for me even if it might be a losing battle.
I am thankful for my husband who refuses to give up.
I am thankful for tax refunds!
I am thankful for the BEST ENT EVER!
I am thankful for ear tubes (one week to go!!)
I am thankful for family & friends that are caring & patient.
And, I guess I'm thankful for TJ the BFE -- he really is kinda cool. ;)

Trip to Manti
Caleb's 1st horse ride! March 28th, 2009
So, despite how happy he looks in this picture, it was a completely miserable weekend! He was acting like he didn't feel too hot at daycare of Friday and despite my better judgement I didn't take him to instacare before we left for Manti. Caleb proceeded to cry all night Friday night, most of the day Saturday & all night Saturday night. Finally at 1:30 in the morning on Sunday, Travis says "Put him in his carseat. I give up! We're going to Gunnison (the hospital)." So, off we went. Just like I thought, he had ANOTHER ear infection! On the bright side, the dr. gave him 10 days of antibiotics and we were down to 11 days before tube surgery!! Yay!! He is MUCH happier now & I absolutely cannot wait until we get tubes in the kid! He has been the worst of the 3 when it comes to ears (and the other two haven't been all that great!!!).
So, the purpose of our trip to Manti was to pick up Trav's elk from the taxidermist. So, here he is. Meet TJ the BFE (Big Furry Elk). These pictures really don't do it justice. I'll have to take pictures during the day to see if the light makes a difference. This thing is MASSIVE. He didn't fit through the front door, which meant he would not fit through the garage door. We went around to the back of the house & came in the glass sliding door. I didn't think there was any way he was ever going to fit. Glad he did though because the next option was taking him through the french doors in my room & hanging him on the wall above my bed!! The kids think it's pretty cool & I have to admit, I'm proud of Travis. The only drawback is that now Trav thinks that TJ the BFE needs Morris the Moose to come live next to him on the wall!! I told him if he wants more dead animals on the wall he must finish the basement & hang them up down there!! While bringing this beast in the house (80-100 lbs mind you on icy driveway!) I specifically pointed out that the next thing he kills needs to be MUCH smaller!

Life on the homefront
Well, Travis made it home today. Yay!! The kids and I were super excited to see him. The kids because they have missed him so much. Me because I really need a break from the kids! Funny to think that since I spend SO much time at home. ;)
Actually I think the stress level is getting to me. I had some eczema break out on my neck about a month ago & it is getting worse and worse as time goes by. I think it's getting worse because of the stress. My sister only gets eczema when she's stressed out, so that's why I'm thinking it's stress related.
Caleb has now figured out not only how to get up on all fours & rock back and forth, but he has also moved one knee forward and then nose dived. When I picked him up at Laura's today (daycare) he was on the floor and playing. Just out of the corner of my eye I caught him up on all fours & I'm pretty sure he actually got each knee one movement forward before nosediving. I am SO not ready for him to be crawling!! I can't even believe he's that old already! Tonight he was down on the floor doing his army crawl & we had to put the baby gate across the stairs because he worked his way all the way over there just so he could play with Nash's legos.
And in other news...my school laptop crashed today. That was a fabulous end to 2 days of serious IT stress!! Sending it out tomorrow with the hopes it will be back by Monday! On the bright side, the end of the term is today & grades must be submitted tomorrow. So, I'm almost past that headache (and only have 1 more time left to go through it this school year)!
Anyway, hope you have a great week!
