1 year well check

I can't believe my baby is already a year old! (How many times have I said that in the last week??)
I took Caleb in to see Dr. Clarke today. When I say Caleb is "My Little Man," I'm not joking - he's only in the 25% for height, weight & head size! If you had asked me a year ago if I thought that was going to happen I'd have told you NO WAY! I was positive he was going to be my biggest baby yet! Goes to show why you shouldn't count your eggs before they hatch doesn't it!

Some stats:
*Caleb is 19 lbs 5 oz - the other 2 were over 20 @ 9 months!
*He has 5 teeth now (3 on top & 2 on bottom & he got the top 3 all in 1 week!!)
*He still doesn't walk, although, he is taking one or two steps without holding onto *anything in the last few days.
*He is 28 inches long.
*He can still fit into a size 6 months in clothes (depending on what it is).
*A size 3 shoe (they're tiny - go look at them!) is too BIG.
*I just turned his carseat forward today & he loved it! He waved bye bye to the house when we backed out of the garage!
*He LOVES chocolate, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, apples, ice cream, Cheerios, bananas, & peas (especially if he gets to throw the pod at you).
*He has decided to boycott baby food in the last week & will spit it back at you with a vengence.
*He's starting to get the hang of his sippy cup although, he does enjoy throwing that back at you too!
*He's drinking regular "moo juice" (milk) but likes it a little bit warm.
*He LOVES Grandma Terri's pool & the bathtub & throws a raging fit when he's taken out & made to wears clothing again.
*He thinks it's HILARIOUS when his brother &/or sister pretend to get hurt (fake fall, hit themselves, etc.).
*He likes to chase Charlotte & the poor kitten, Alice (SO cute), at daycare.
*He LOVES monkeys.
*He has this tiny, soft, yellow lamb he got when he was born that he must have to go to sleep & likes to drag just about everywhere that he loves to chew on because he completely weened himself off his binki about a month ago. (We call it "Mimi.")
*He likes to stick his tongue out & wiggle it back and forth at you.
*He says "Dada" but refuses to say "Mama!"
And last but not least:
He has got the most contagious laugh & smile that will absolutely melt your heart in an instant!

I keep telling myself I need to post some fun stuff about the other two kids but this post has gotten long enough so I will do that another time!

New Pix From Kiddie Kandids

So I realized yesterday that today was my EIGHTH time taking one of my kids to get tubes in his/her ears. Yes, EIGHT! I only have THREE kids! How the heck did that happen? When you throw in the surgery where Sam had her adenoids out, we've had surgery NINE times at the Cache Valley Specialty Hospital. Do you think they like us there? I think I give them all job security!!
Caleb did really well getting his new tubes in today. Both ears were in fact infected just as the pediatrician had said. My ENT said that the right one was worse than the left one though. So now my baby has silver oxide coated titanium tubes in his ears. Cross your fingers these ones work!!!!!!

What have we been doing?

Well, here are a few (like 60) pix to show you what we've been doing the last week!

Caleb has managed to cut 3 teeth in 1 week - yeah, that was buckets of fun!

Went to the dr. with both boys today & Caleb has a double ear infection & Nash has a tube clogged. How much fun is that?! SO, SO, SO glad we're getting new tubes for Caleb on Thursday the 16th of July.

We did celebrate Caleb's 1st bday early. Trav went back to WY today so he'll be gone on Caleb's actualy bday. Besides, since he's getting tubes Thursday I didn't know how great he'd feel on his actual bday (Sat.). He got lots of fun, cute presents. It was fun to see everyone. I can't believe it's already been a year! WOW. Where did the time go?? Oh yeah, I know, commuting!!

Sam lost her loose snaggle tooth. Her other front tooth is loose too so I'm sure it's going to be gone in less than a month as well. I did get Sam back in to the dentist for a check up. Come to find out one of her teeth doesn't have a permanent one above it (the tooth between the one that's gone & the i-tooth). Sounds like we're going to cross our fingers that it doesn't get pushed out when the front & i-tooth permanents come in & just expand it when she gets bigger. Nothing too tramatizing (I hope!).

We took the kids to Bear Lake on Sunday. We hadn't been since Sam was about 3 years old & I just got a hankering to go, so we did! We went with Trav's parents & his brother's family. The kids had a blast. They were however once again reminded what a cruel mother I am b/c I put all 3 of them on the tube at one point! We actually ended up having some beautiful weather while we were there -- the nicest I've ever had over there actually. But, as we were clamping everything down to head out we got a downpour dumped on us! Guess we had perfect timing in getting off the water!

It may be another week or two before I can update again. We have Caleb's second set of tubes on Thur., Nash is running a fever of 104, Caleb gets his 1 yr. shots on Tuesday (he was up to 19.5 lbs today -- what a runt!) and I have a dr.'s appointment on Wednesday. Beginning July 29th I get to start going to school functions (prof. dev. and such). I'm bummed but excited at the same time. I can't believe my summer is almost over already! I guess my one last hoo-rah will have to be my 10 year wedding anniversary on the 30th!! Wow, I feel old!
