Picture Challenge Day 12 & 13

I've been doing an ok job of taking my pictures.  I just haven't done a very good job of getting them posted the same day I take them!

I let Brooke have her valentine sucker from her cousin Rylee yesterday.  Little sister was in HEAVEN!  She loved it!  I think she might be like Caleb in that suckers will be a favorite.

Since bringing her high chair up & clipping it to the counter she has turned into Swiper!

My Aunt Debbie is amazing!  Check out the valentines she made my kids!  They thought they were the coolest thing ever!  (Which they are!)

Tonight Brookelyn got to play with her cousin who is 3 days older than she is.  Brookelyn still looks like she'd make 3 of Olivia!  They were cute together.  Olivia isn't crawling yet so B was a little harder for Olivia to keep up to.

Last night I gave Caleb a blueberry muffin.  Apparently he unwrapped it and only ate a bite or two.  When I came over not long after, Sister had eaten the whole thing.  So, tonight I gave her her own muffin.  She loved it!  She couldn't shove it in her face fast enough!

And last, but not least, there's this little cutie.  I took her to the ENT today.  Yep, we will be purchasing yet another (set #10 in fact) set of tubes.  She will also be getting her adenoids out.  March 8th - her cousin's first birthday!  Not too far away & hoping that it makes her feel better!

Picture Challenge Day 10 & 11

The picture of the blanket I did that I posted the other day I actually took on my phone & emailed to myself so I could blog it.  Why?  Because I didn't want to hook my camera up to my PC and download 2 pictures! I did get the blanket ragged the same night I finished it.  I stayed up until about 3 am, but now it's done & I just need to figure out how to wrap the sucker up!  So, here's 1 project (only about a yr & a half in the making) finished:

And here's another project started:
What is going to be you ask?  A rag blanket that is for Caleb's preschool teacher.  She's due at the end of the month but I'm afraid her baby boy will be coming any day now!

Nash got some Kre-o LEGOS at Christmas.  He got Bumblebee & Optimus Prime.  He whipped Bumblebee together in under an hour & completely on his own.  He had tried, several times, to build Optimus into the semi truck.  Last night he got Optimus put together as Optimus.  He was pretty proud of himself (I don't blame it, it was no small feat!) and I was pretty proud of him too.  I told him we had to get a picture of it!  And what do you know?  The kid looks more like his dad every time I turn around!

I came home from work today & found this:

Sister is getting pretty dang good on all fours.  Especially when she has the cord to dad's laptap to chase after!

My kids were so excited.  They got a valentine in the mail today (Thanks Rylee).  Can you see the look on Brooke's face?  She was so excited!  It was funny because she had absolutely no idea what it was.  All she knew was that the other kids were making a big deal out of it and were excited so she was too!  She was quite upset when I wouldn't let her have her sucker unsupervised!

Not too long ago Smith's had blueberries on sale.  You could get 16 oz for $4 or you could buy 8 oz for $4.  I don't know about you, but it was a no brainer for me...I got the 16 oz.  Brooke liked to eat them plain, but it was making a terrible mess.  I finally decided to bake something with them (Sam's a blueberry muffin fiend).  So, I cranked out a blueberry strussell.  Not bad for a first attempt & a recipe that we hadn't used before.  I was surprised at how thick the "batter" was.  More like cookie dough if you ask me.  It made for a good after dinner dessert though.  (I also made a batch of blueberry muffins, but they didn't look as pretty, so I didn't snap a picture.)

After Caleb got out of the tub Sam helped him with his hair.  He was might proud of his awesome hairdo.  Almost time for another haircut!

I busted out our high chair that attaches to the counter this past weekend.  Brooke is loving it now that I've found all the straps & can safely strap her in there!  Charlotte is loving it too actually.  I think they're going to become besties rather quickly.  Why?  Well, what dog wouldn't love the kid that does this:

There was an impromptu guitar lesson at our house tonight.  It was later followed by an impromptu waltz lesson for Sam.  I wasn't able to snap a shot of the waltzing, but I did get the guitar lesson.  All the kids were pretty excited when their dad busted out his old pics and let them each choose one.  Hopefully I won't find them all chewed up by the dog any time soon.

Picture Challenge Day 9

Last night the boys were watching a movie while I was working on a quilt.  All of the sudden it got really quiet.  I looked up and couldn't see Nash.  I started wondering if he'd gone in my room or downstairs.  I walked over to look for him & that's when I realized he was actually still there....sound asleep.
I lifted the blanket up and he was out cold!

Trav got to come home a day early!  He got home about 8:30 tonight.  The kids were really happy to see him.  Brooke just loved on him and was happy as a clam.

Caleb was pretty happy to just climb up on his dad and snuggle too.

After watching Travis sit on the couch and just let Brooke loose to roam, I'm a bit nervous.  Sister noticed Charlotte and crawled over to check her out.

She was quite proud of herself for crawling over to where I was and for pulling herself up all the way so she could actually reach the dog.

I've had this quilt cut out for about a year now.  I bought the fabric with the intention of doing it for Sam to match the caterpillar my mom did for Brookelyn.  I had to use a couple more fabrics than what my mom did in the caterpillar, but I FINALLY have it ALMOST done.  I've got it all sewn together & I just need to snip it & wash it so it will rag.  I hope Sam likes it!  She's known I've had it & that it was cut out & I was working on it.  She doesn't know I was trying to get it done for her birthday though.

Picture Challenge Day 8

There are no pictures of Sam today -- she's sleeping over at a friend's house & since I didn't snap any pictures of her during my rush out of the house at 8 am, she got left out of the picture taking party!

Tonight I busted out my high chair that clasps onto the counter.  It doesn't have any of the straps on it.  Luckily she doesn't know how to climb out of it...yet.  As soon as she figures that out though I'll have to bust out the regular high chair!  You can tell her little mouth is chuck full of food in both of these pictures!

Caleb was entertaining himself for quite awhile tonight with his 7 Up and straw.  I thought it was funny to watch him just sit on the counter and play away.  He would have stayed there longer if I hadn't snapped the picture and caught his attention with the flash.

Nash was playing around with the basket I keep a few of Brooke's toys in.

Sister finally crawls on all fours.  It's kinda funny to watch because she actually does it on only one knee.  She keeps the other knee under her laying against the floor so she isn't all the way up and risking too much.  Silly girl.

Is it just me, or does she look guilty of something here?

Yep, there it is!  Look closely at her mouth!
I think I might have to banish LEGOS to the basement for the next 2 1/2 years!

It got rather quiet at one point tonight.  I asked the boys "Where's the baby?"  No answer.  So, we went looking.  Here's where we found her.  When she realized I was sitting just outside the door, she turned and just grinned ear to ear at me!  Little stinker!  Guess it's time to keep the bathroom door shut now too!

After I got Brooke out of the tub tonight I was letting her look at the baby in the mirror.  She loved it!  She usually does but she was extra excited about it tonight.

Sister was getting quite a kick out of looking at the kitty in the mirror after she got out of the tub.  She has recently rediscovered her tongue & can't get enough of it.  I was just happy to catch it on film!

And here's an update on my crocheting project.  I'm impressed with how far I've gotten already & it doesn't even look too shabby!  Now, if I can manage to keep my yarn the same tightness all the way through!

Random piece of information that I learned today.  Did you know that a child's IQ is more closely associated to the IQ of their grandparents than it is to that of their parents?  Real fact!  Explains so much about my children! :)

Picture Challenge Days 6 & 7

Last night I had a migraine hit me like a semi truck at about 10 pm.  So, I went to bed before posting.  When I went to go to bed, this is what I found:
Cute, but seriously?  How the heck am I suppose to sleep in here too?  He's just like his dad!

Yesterday I introduced my 3rd graders to pod casting.  That's what their next project at school is going to be.  I had found some that were LEGO ones.  I showed Nash how to access them & voila:
I think the kid liked them!

I tried making Parker House Rolls to go with dinner.  My recipes said it made two dozen.  Yea, like 6 dozen later, I was still cutting!  They turned out ok, but they aren't Grandma Allen rolls by any means.  Guess this recipe needs some practice!

When I had Brookelyn in the tub Caleb came in & was entertaining her.  They were really cute together.  I'm actually surprised he listened when I told him he couldn't jump in with her!

She had some killer hair going on after she got out that I was trying to capture.  Don't mind dorky me.

She's always so sad when I take her out of the tub.  Sister loves the tub!

I started a crocheting project out of the book I put a picture up of the other day.  It's a shawl.  I love this yarn.  My mom had to take it to work to ask one of the ladies she works with how to do the stitch I'm working on now.  This is how far I was last night.  Tonight I'm about +5 rows or so.

These are from today.  I didn't get my ten in (not even close).  After school we had a chiropractor appointment, dance class & a Relay for Life meeting.  Didn't even get home until after 9:30 pm!
Brookelyn still isn't feeling well.  Her fever spiked back up around 4 am this morning.  My mom kept her most of the day today (until she had to work).  She actually took like a 2 hour nap for my mom (that's unheard of - even when she feels well).  I snapped this picture because lately, whenever I put this jacket on her & I remember to put the hood on, she falls asleep fairly quickly.  Not sure if it's because the hood drapes over her eyes and she can't see anything or if it's just because she's plumb tuckered out.  Either way, I think it's adorable.

And last, but not least, my poor pathetic, ewok looking dog.  Charlotte needs groomed so badly!  I bought her a new sweater this fall, but it's a little big on her & she just slips right out of it.  I'm afraid she'll freeze to death if I take her in and get her shaved down!  Guess we'll have to risk it & take her in next week.  I'm not sure how she's not running into walls because her fur is so far up over her eyes!
