My little leprechaun

Friday night Sam danced for the MC Caprielle Review.  We ended up leaving the boys with Trav's parents. The boys hate sitting through dance stuff because it usually lasts quite awhile.  Lucky for the boys, Grandma and Grandpa decided to take them to see the movie "We bought a zoo".  Apparently, it's not so much a kid movie.  Cute, but not geared for 3-6 year olds. :)
After Sam was done dancing we went back to North Logan to get the boys.  (See my facebook page for the video of Sam's dance.)  Grandma has all her St. Patrick's day decorations out.  My kids love Grandma Kris's holiday decorations.  She always has stuff out to decorate that make cute decorations, but the kids can play with it too!  Little sister enjoyed dressing up as a leprechaun and playing with her big sister.

On Saturday Travis took Sam and Nash snow skiing up to Beaver mountain.  Travis's sister, her husband, their five year old, Travis's dad, Travis's brother and his four year old went too.  Unfortunately, on the second run our nephew had a face vs. ski accident and Grandpa and Uncle Chad had to take Kash down the mountain to the hospital.  He ended up with stitches and now he looks like he's growing a mustache on one side of his face.  He should be fine, but Travis's brother spent the day quite upset about the whole situation.
I took Caleb and Brooke out to Travis's parents' house after they got off the mountain.  Brooke was in dire need of a nap and was fighting it pretty good.  She slept for most of the ride to North Logan but then woke up.  She was pretty happy to see Grandpa.  Grandpa was pretty excited to got to hug both his little girls!

Travis heads back to work tonight.  That means that we are officially kicking off our count down to Disneyland!  Samantha & I leave with my mom and "my other mother" exactly two weeks from today!  Should be a fast and furious two weeks to fly right by!  We are super excited to go (I am in much need of a vacation).  I think Travis is a bit apprehensive about the whole idea even though he won't admit it.  Look out California, here we come!  I hope my house and my other children survive a week without me!

Cache Valley Specialty Hospital

Oh Cache Valley Specialty Hospital, how we visit you too frequently.  Today we came to visit again.  We were lucky enough to visit you to receive our 10th and 11th set of tubes.  And don't forget the fourth adnoidectomy you gave to us today as well!

My baby girl was so happy and smiley this morning before we came to visit you.  After our visit, she woke up angry at the world.  Now, she sleeps.  How I hope she will sleep off her angry-ness soon.  I do not like seeing my baby so sad.  Dr. Blotter told me that her left ear was super red and inflamed.  It was a good thing we had our visit today.  Lucky for us, Dr. Blotter was able to put a small catheter in her incision and flush the ear out.  I hope that she does not get an infection now.  I also hope that she does not finally break out in an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillan they gave her.

My big boy won the "Best kid to wake up from surgery EVER" award as a result of our visit today.  No whimpering or crying at all.  The only difficulty he had was, "I can't see!" to which I had the pleasure of responding "Well, open your eyes you nerd and you'll be able to see just fine."  Once he opened his eyes, he was perfect.  I am thinking he might even be able to go back to school tomorrow!

We were lucky to leave our visit soon after we arrived.  In fact, we were home a little after 9 am.  I must say, I am impressed.  You never let us leave before 10 or 11 am!

So, here we are, after our visit to you and I'm remembering all our other visits:

January 2005 - Sam adenoids
May 11, 2005 - Sam tubes
June 2005 - Sam tubes
March 2006 - Sam & Nash tubes
December 2007 - Nash tonsils, adenoids, and tubes
March 2009 - Nash tubes & Caleb tubes, tonsils & adenoids
April 2009 - Caleb tubes
January 2011 - Sam tonsils & ear hole repair
March 2012 - Nash tubes & Brookelyn tubes and adenoids

Wow.  That is a depressing list of visits!  It doesn't include Samantha's traumatic arm breaking either!  Of course, that was at LRH.  It also does not include Nash's bout with Rheumatic Fever because that too was at LRH.  Oh Cache Valley Specialty Hospital I am so glad to have you but I also do not like you!

Yesterday Travis was watching kids while I was at the dentist.  Apparently he was playing guitar and watching Brookelyn at the same time.  Sister loves to listen to her daddy play his guitar.  I guess she must have been ready for a nap because after a little bit of Ozzy's Crazy Train, he noticed little sister like this:

Our weekend....in pictures

Sister had a stylin pony tail the other day.  It was too cute not to take a picture of her with it.

Thanks to the snow dumping Mother Nature gave us the last few days, my boys got to help Grandpa Larry plow the snow off the driveway.  They were sad that I didn't let them stay until the entire job was done.

Sister is loving her big girl car seat.  She can look out the window AND torment her big brother!  We got her some new teething rings the other day because she's working on two new teeth and her gums are sore!

This was Friday afternoon on my way to North Logan.  I giggled when I looked back there and saw them both passed out.  I was glad I had my camera on me so I could snap a picture when I stopped!

We had a bunch of good packing snow on Saturday morning.  The boys were so excited to go out and play in it.  They were even more excited when they realized that the snow balls they were making were going to stay put together!  They stock piled snow balls and then Nash proceeded to let loose on Caleb.  Caleb just sat there "like a duck in the pond at the fair" in my mother's words.  It was, admittedly, rather silly to sit and watch.  The look on Caleb's face was priceless - too bad I didn't catch it in a picture!

I took the kids to church today.  It was the first time we've been since about Thanksgiving.  Yes, someone has been sick every single week since then!  I finally had healthy kids though, so we braved it!  After church was over I took the kids down to my mom's house and made her take our picture.  The last pictures I have of us all dressed up for church (that aren't for a baptism or blessing) are from when Caleb was about Brookelyn's age!

I bought this dress for Brooke at Kohl's a little while back.  I LOVE it and love that I got it on clearance for rather cheap.  The kids were calling it her cow dress because it's black and white, like a cow.  Caleb got a funny look on his face and looked at me.  "Mom!  It's not a cow dress!  Cows DON'T have pink on them." Good point dude, good point!  I still think she looked adorable though!

She's looking more like her big sister did at this age every day!

The Lorax

Friday Samantha decided she wanted to spend the night at her friend Samantha's house.  So, I decided I'd take the boys and Brooke out and do something fun.  Mind you, I tried to get SIX different people to go with me before I decided to quit calling people so I could feel rejected.

I thought it would be fun to go to The Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner and then to see The Lorax.  Nash wasn't too big on the idea of The Pizza Pie Cafe because they didn't have plain old cheese pizza there.  So, he picked Sizzler instead.  In the three years Travis has been working at Halliburton, I don't recall ever taking my children out to a sit down restaurant for dinner without another adult with me.  Especially not just the younger ones!  Surprisingly, they were better behaved than they have been in a long, long time!  I told the boys if they ate all their dinner I'd buy them one of those kid trays at the theater too.  What do you know?  They ate their dinner better than I've seen them eat in ages!

I had bought our tickets for the 6:45 show as people were going in for the 4:30 show.  I was glad I had.  We got back to the theater about 20 minutes before the movie was to start.  We got the boys their kid trays and had to wait in line to get into the theater!  Caleb was positive he needed "movie glasses."  Apparently, the last movie we must have taken him to had to have been a 3D movie.  I kept telling him to look at everyone else, no one else is wearing glasses.  The smart little monkey looks right at me and says, "You are."  Duh mom.  I tried to explain that I was wearing my glasses I wear every single day!  He ended up trying to sneak out of the theater THREE different times to find glasses!  I told him if there were glasses I'd be more than happy to get him glasses, but there are in fact, NO GLASSES!  At the end of the movie he was still kinda put out that he didn't get glasses!

Other than Caleb trying to sneak out of the theater three different times, they did really well.  Brooke sat on my lap and watched the whole thing.  Not even too many wiggles from little sister!  I was amazed.  I thought she'd be jumping all over the place getting her groove on!

I was worried that Hollywood would really mess this classic story up.  Much to my delight, they did not.  Sure, they added a few things, but overall it was just about spot on.  We loved it!  I will be buying this when it comes out on DVD.

I was impressed that the kids were so well behaved.  And, Mother Nature was even kind enough to wait for the snow dump until after we got home!  If you haven't taken your kids to see this one, I'd highly recommend you go!
