2007 in Review

In February Samantha turned 4 years old. She finished pre-school at Riverside in Logan in May and had her year end dance review in May as well.

In April we moved to our new home in Hyrum. Our new mailing address is: 182 East 100 South Hyrum, UT 84319. We have absolutely LOVED having all the space. I never imagined we'd be able to fill the entire place - boy was I wrong!

In May Nash turned 2 years old. He has been so much fun to watch. He has SO much energy that I wake up in the morning knowing that I'll be tired again in about 2 hours simply from trying to keep up with him! He adores his big sister and follows her around like a puppy all day long. He even wants to go to preschool with her rather than leave her there for a few hours twice a week.

Also in May, Travis had a work related accident. Originally I thought it was going to cost him 3 fingers on his left hand. Fortunately it only cost him the tip of one finger. Unfortunately, it's his chord hand for playing; his guitar. We managed to get his guitar adapted but he's still working on learning to play again.

In July I began selling Lia Sophia jewelry. I have really enjoyed doing this - partly because I can finally wear jewelry that won't make me break out in my eczema & partly because it gives me a chance to work on my public speaking skills. I have met a lot of really nice people and have had a lot of fun doing it too. My website link is at the bottom of the page if you want to check out our jewelry.

In September Samantha started preschool again. This year she is going to preschool just 3 doors down from our house. She really enjoys going to Miss Kathryn's preschool & has made lots of new friends. She went through a phase where it was a battle to get her to school in the morning because she was certain that she did not want to turn 5 and that she did not want to go to Kindergarten. Hopefully we've gotton through the worst of that phase and have got her convinced that Kindergarten is still a little ways away and that she'll be fine when she does go to Kindergarten.

In Septemember we also made our annual trip to Lake Powell. We had tons of fun. Nash got over his fear of water (mostly) after a near drowning incident at my parent's house in June. We were on a "new" houseboat this year since Travis' parents invested in a new time share with his Aunt Lori and Uncle Brad. Even after a week on the water, the kids were still not ready to come home!

In October Travis went Elk hunting with his dad and uncles and he actually killed something! He brought home an Elk and we've been testing out Elk meet in various recipes since then.

In November we learned that we are expecting baby number 3! The kids are very excited about this and both have said they'd like a sister. Samantha is convinced however that she's going to be getting another brother whether she likes it or not. Since we won't know whether it's a boy or a girl until about Easter, she's still got some time to adjust to the idea of another brother.

In December, my little brother graduated from rehab & moved back home. He lasted at home for about a week before he started to struggle again. He has since moved in with us and has been here for about 2 or so weeks. He has been doing much better than many thought he would and we have really enjoyed having him with us. The kids have especially enjoyed having Uncle Zack live with them because they love him SO much and the idea of having him around 24 hours a day is the best idea they've ever heard of! While he was in rehab, he managed to graduate from High School which means he's got his diploma and doesn't have to return to school where many of his problems were. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll be able to turn his life around now that he's been given a second chance.

The kids were SO much fun at Christmas this year. Samantha got lots of Polly Pockets (It's all she's been talking about for the last 4 months!). Nash got lots of "Mater" (the tow truck from the Cars movie) toys. His 2 favorite presents came from my mom - his new work bench with lots of tools and an excavator that has controls he can use to dig with the bucket in the dirt. Can't wait to take it outside and watch him go nuts in the piles of dirt!

We are looking forward to a great 2008 and hope that by having a blog we'll be able to keep those of you that don't have a myspace page up to date on all our adventures!
