Never Ending Projects

So Travis finally decided he was going to get around to "trimming" the trees in the yard. He started with the giant red maple in the backyard last weekend. I think he's almost done with that one! Now only about 4 more to go!! Nash has LOVED driving the lift with Grandpa Larry. Even Samantha has gotten in on the action (in fact, she was quite put out when Grandpa skipped her turn to drive the lift!!)

This one is of Travis in the lift at the very tip top of the giant red maple. I think he ended up taking about 8 feet or so off the top of the tree. He had to tie onto the branches before he cut them off so they wouldn't fall down & break the fence down (not that the fence is in all that great of condition anyway!)

Nash & Grandpa Larry driving the lift. I figure this scenario was safer than when Grandpa took a break & Travis was climbing up the tree with the chainsaw on! Travis swears the chainsaw has a safety. I told him that's what he said about the nail gun!

Our growing wood pile for winter!

Some how we have to figure out how to get all the "junk piles" to the actual dump. I think we'd have the fire dept. show up (again) if we burnt it all without getting a burn permit first??

Baby pool

You have to give a specific time, not just am or pm!

Baby Pool & other stuff

Ok, every time someone in our family is expecting, we create a baby pool. So, I've decided to start the baby pool. My due date is July 24th, Samantha was 8 days early, was 20 1/2 inches long & weighed 8 lbs 11 oz. Nash was 5 days early, was 20 inches long & weighed 9 lbs 4 oz. Here are the rules: Pick a day, a time (specify am or pm), a weight, & a length. The person who is the closest to being right is who we call first! Get your guesses in & good luck!

We are working really hard to potty train Nash. Yesterday alone we went through 4 shorts & underwear! The bonus side to that is that most of the time when he had an accident he was on his way to the toilet (without me taking him) & didn't quite make it there in time. I've run out of pull ups & really don't want to buy any more. I do have night time diapers to put him in so I'm not changing his bed sheets everyday. Any suggestions you might have for improving this process would be GREATLY appreciated! I've heard about sinking the cereal in the toilet & he really doesn't stand up unless his dad is helping him. My dad wants to teach him how to go outside, but I can just see where that will get me!!

For those in warmer temperatures, it was nearly 80 here yesterday. It was SO nice to be outside and to wash my car. I even took the carpet cleaner to the inside of my car (in hopes of a better chance at selling it but without having to pay the $100 to get it detailed). Of course today, it's snowing. No, I'm not joking & I don't find it funny either! Only in Cache Valley will you find such a huge variance in weather in 2 days!

I went to my doctor's appointment today and everything looks and sounds good. My doctor was actually able to find the baby's heart beat the first time she looked. That's the first time that's happened! He's been quite shy & has hid from the doplar every appointment! Must take after his dad & not like doctors already. I go back May 6th & will have my glucose test done - that's always fun. I have started retaining water already though so I already know it's going to be a LONG summer!

Today Travis came home from work & told me he thinks he has kidney stones. Is it just me or does my insurance make serious bank off my family???? So, as of right now, he's in our room watching tv trying not to think about it! I told him I almost feel bad for him but since I've been through birth twice I really don't feel that bad! Guess that's kind of rotten, but I know he'd say the same thing if it was me!

Well, that's what we've been up to. Hope you're enjoying your day!

24 weeks...and counting

Well, here's an updated fat girl pic. Lately I have people asking me when I'm due & when I tell them July 24th they look at me like - "Ooh..that sucks." As if I didn't already know that one! One lady was kind enough to say, "Well at least it isn't too hot then." Um? Hello? Have you been in Utah long? Oh well, at least I have air conditioning, right??

Cache County School District Interview

Well, today I went and interviewed with Cache County School District. Actually, it was a "screening interview." If the person I interview with at this point in the process likes me, then I "pass" this interview and then when jobs become available, they might actually interview me at the school where the position is open instead of sending me a rejection letter without ever letting me interview! (Can you tell I've had some frustration with this school district? TWO years and only 1 interview - and that was the screening interview last year!) I actually had the good fortune of interviewing with the principal at Greenville Elementary (a 3-5 school walking distance from my in-laws house in North Logan). I say good fortune, because he happens to know my brother in law - and thought highly of him. He was also my in laws' neighbor at one point. I feel like we kicked off the interview with a bang and finished it even better. He told me I had an excellent background (we have some similar work experiences) and told me I have nothing to worry about, that I'll be just fine. The only thing he reccommended was that I get my ESL endorsement - I told him I had started but just haven't had the opportunity to finish it up yet. I think I have a good shot at getting a call back for another interview with this principal so I thought I'd spread the word!
Hope you have a great week!
